Hello everyone!

First, I want to thank you all for standing up and showing up for our students last May. The vote on Lucabaugh may not have gone as we hoped, but we made our views known. And for that, I am grateful.

However, now that Dr. Lucabaugh is the superintendent of Centennial, we have our work cut out for us.

As we near the end of summer, it's really time to start gearing up for the fall. We have two main focuses at this point:

1. WATCHDOG MODE like crazy. Pay attention to what policies Lucabaugh and the board majority put forward, pay attention to who they plan to fill our administrative vacancies with.

2. FLIP THE SCHOOL BOARD. Remember how badly many of us did not want Lucabaugh to be our superintendent? Talk to your neighbors, friends, other soccer parents, anyone you know in Centennial, especially if you are in Region 1 (Upper South) and Region 3 (Warminster Speedway and the small section north of Street Rd and west of York Rd). Tell your people, kindly and frankly, why you didn't want Lucabaugh as our super. Tell them that we have 5 vacancies for top administrative positions two weeks before the school year started, and the general consensus is that admins didn't want to work with Lucabaugh. Remind them that Flemming Godiksen (Region 1), Mark Gindhart (Region 2), and Mary Alice Brancato (Region 3) voted to hire Lucabaugh, against the community’s wishes. Those 3 are up for re-election this year. And that Jane Lynch (also Region 3) wanted nothing to do with Lucabaugh (hopefully she gets re-elected).

And lastly, we have two important dates coming up:

AUGUST 19TH, 7:00 PM: School Board Meeting. The first "real" school board meeting with Lucabaugh at the helm. We need people there so the board majority knows we’re still paying attention.

AUGUST 23RD, 2:00 PM: Project 2025 Conversation with Aimee Saunders from Red, Wine and Blue (RWB) at Southampton Free Library. RWB is a great organization that focuses on educating and empowering the average citizen with information, so they can vote with knowledge. They focus on relational organizing, which is basically what I talked about above - talking to your friends and neighbors, informing them, but with kindness and care. They are also committing to outreach in Centennial, knowing that our district is at a tipping point of turning against students’ interests. As already seen by the majority voting to hire Lucabaugh.

I also plan, at some point, to migrate all the email addresses from this petition to Mailchimp, so I can manage our group more easily. As soon as I do that, you will be able to set your own email preferences too. Feel free to find us on Facebook at Concerned Citizens of Centennial School District, also.

Let's do this! 💪
