I encourage all of you not only to share this petition among your friends and neighbors, but also to email the school board directors to let them know you think Dr. Lucabaugh is not the man for the job. While I'm hoping to have 1000 signatures before May 13th (the next school board meeting), ultimately, the board will listen to emails more. 

Here is the text of the email I just sent, if it helps you craft yours:

Subject: NO to Dr. Lucabaugh

Dear Esteemed Centennial School Board Directors,

I implore you NOT to hire Dr. Abe Lucabaugh as the next superintendent of Centennial School District, as was reported on Friday, April 25th by phillyburbs.com and patch.com.

During his tenure as the superintendent of Central Bucks, the school district (which means taxpayer money) paid over $1 million to settle lawsuits filed by the ACLU for discrimination against the LGBTQ+ student population, and the wrongful termination of a middle school teacher.

My own son, who enters McDonald for kindergarten this fall, already has an IEP. I shudder to think what Dr. Lucabaugh might do to our special education population, after he so blatantly attacked LGBTQ students in Central Bucks through policy.

Centennial SD can afford neither the millions in lawsuits, nor the high price tag of his salary and potential payout (remember, he left Central Bucks with a $700,000 severance package). And our diverse student population cannot afford his discriminatory policies.

Please put forth a different candidate for public consideration. Dr. Lucabaugh is not the person to lead our district.
