Hello everybody!
Firstly, apologies for the lack of updates on this matter till now, as you may or may not know, these processes can be lengthy ones; so I will attempt to keep this contact as brief as I possibly can.
The Wollongong Local Planning Panel held a meeting last night and have promptly returned a unanimous REFUSAL verdict!
This is a definite WIN for every single person here who felt strongly enough about this matter to have added their name to this petition. I want to congratulate, and thank, each and every single one of you for voicing your opinion and not just letting this ridiculous application go unchallenged; it really does just go to show that methods like these can really work, and help in decision making processes!
I would also quickly like to say a very big, special thank you to the individual who addressed the panel last night in opposition of the application, your presentation was just... SPOT ON! I was cheering you along the whole time! So honestly, just thank you so very much, from the absolute bottom of my heart, your corroboration in this means a lot.
OK, so, there is still a possibility that the applicants will now turn to legal proceedings in order to get their way, but we now have the entirety of Wollongong Council behind us, so if it comes to that, we will be ready.
