Hello, my fellow supporters!
On November 9, 2022, while I was washing my hands during B lunch, this lady told me to leave before she locked the door. I was obviously confused. Why were the 100 restrooms locked? The lady said it was because of marijuana and that the only solution was to have one restroom open, which I do not consider a solution.
The next day, the 100 hall restrooms seemed to be open, but I don't think it was because of the petition. Regardless, what I would like to do is get at least one restroom in the 200 hall open. For my last 2 classes on B days, I am strictly in the 200 hallway, and I once almost peed myself after getting a weak bladder from drinking too much caffeine. It felt like I could not reach the 300 hall on time, but I somehow did. This was a few weeks ago.
I am incredibly grateful for the amount of support that has been gathered through the petition. Perhaps the school will come up with new ideas to solve their weed problem. After all, there are bigger things to worry about than just marijuana or vaping. Teachers say that you should try to convince your friends to stop doing weed, but that is simply impossible. Why? because people are addicted to drugs. It is hard to quit an addiction, and it is not as simple as people say. There's also the chance of being threatened by that person who is on drugs, and, of course, the guilt of throwing them in jail and ruining their lives before they even go to college.
Perhaps you could show this to the admins and see the amount of support from people who feel it is unfair to close the restrooms. No teacher I asked agreed to sign the petition, but encouraged me to keep standing up for myself.
