There are several owners of an aggressive breed who struggle every day with housing. I am a mother of a Blue Nose Pit Bull. I found it so difficult to find affordable housing that would allow this breed into their establishment that I basically have to wait until I have enough money to buy a house so that I do not have to worry about that. I know first hand how frustrating it is to want to move to a new place that you want to be but getting shut down because of the breed of my dog. My dog is the friendliest animal in the world and was trained to be obedient. I have 2 other dogs as well and one is a teacup chihuahua that he has never hurt by even stepping on her. He is respectful and is only feared because of the stigma. With this petition, I would like to show property management establishments that this is not like the old days where these dogs were bred to fight. These are loving animals that should not have to be separated just so the owner is able to live somewhere. I want to propose that these properties change their policy by allowing dogs to be tested for their aggression. I have talked to several "aggressive breed" owners that have said that their dog is super friendly and would never want to hurt anyone or anything. If these companies allow for owners dogs to past certain tests then that would definitely open up housing opportunities.
