Daja vu is the feeling that one has lived through the present situation before.

But it isn’t deja vu when you're fully awake and realize that you’re actually in a recurring nightmare that you just can’t seem to get out of!

This is where we find ourselves yet again after ANOTHER FAILED NORTH OF FALCON!

Once again, we were given false hopes by the likes of Director Susewind, Chair Carpenter and the  Director of Fish Policy, Ron Warren.

And once again what we got was a DISASTER!

Unfortunately, hopes for change we pinned on Director Susewind seemed to be misplaced.  Oh, he talked a great game of change and improvement, but he’s done absolutely nothing but follow in the footsteps of his failed predecessor, Jim Unsworth.

We need to ask ourselves, is it a coincidence that the last two Directors are miserable failures, or do they have something in common?

One doesn’t have to look too far to find that answer: Both Unsworth and Susewind put their full faith and trust in RON WARREN!

Shortly after the announcement that Ron was being promoted in the new position of Director of Fish Policy, we wrote Kelly Susewind and voiced concern about Ron’s poor performance in the North of Falcon and in crafting the horrible Ten Year Chinook Harvest Management Plan.  The Director replied, expressing his upmost faith in Wrecking Ball Ron Warren!  I sure hope he’s reconsidering that now after ANOTHER HUGE FAILURE!!

FROM WHERE WE’RE SITTING, IT SURE LOOKS LIKE IT’S RON WARREN WHO’S RUNNING THE SHOP AND KELLY SUSEWIND IS JUST DOING HIS BIDDING!

Warren has been directly involved in the North of Falcon for years. And for years we’ve seen one disaster after another, year after year. 

 If the Department were a publicly held company, Ron’s performance would have resulted in his dismissal years ago.

But WDFW RUNS ON OUR MONEY, AND HAS NO ACCOUNTABILITY TO ANYONE, SO POOR PERFORMANCE LIKE RON’S RESULTS IN A PROMOTION! 

Look, nobody wants a revolving door in the WDFW head offices.  It’s not good for the hard working staff, and it’s certainly not good for the fisheries management process.  But, come on!  

NOW MORE THAN EVER, WE NEED REAL LEADERS, NOT PUPPETS. 

We can’t keep allowing the same inept people to keep making the same catastrophic  decisions and JUST HOPE THINGS WILL GET BETTER.

Maybe it’s time for Kelly Susewind and Ron Warren to go?  Certainly for Ron to be reassigned OUT OF ANY ROLE IN THE NORTH OF FALCON!

It’s time for Commission Chair Carpenter to grow a pair and have the Commission exercise it supervisory authority over the Department?

The way it’s looking right now, the Department is telling the Commission what to do, and is making decisions completely disregarding the Commission.

Our Commissioners are sitting silent, while the likes of Ron Warren blunders his way through yet another failure in the North of Falcon.

And where is Director Susewind? Where is his supervision?  Sure looks like he’s right there, sitting on Ron’s lap as Warren moves his mouth for him, telling us all: “Just wait till next year, it’s gonna be better.”

We don’t know about all of you, but for us, we’re tired of being in this nightmare, year after year!

SO, HERE’S OUR WORDS OF ADVICE TO OUR COMMISSION CHAIR CARPENTER:

GROW A SET OF STONES AND DO YOUR DAMN JOB!  SUPPORT AND REPRESENT YOUR STAKEHOLDERS, OR GET THE HELL OUT OF THE WAY AND LET SOMEONE ELSE WITH A BACKBONE TAKEOVER!
