Look, We admit we advocated for Larry Carpenter’s re-appointment to the Commission. After long conversations with him while working on our Open North of Falcon movement, we were very encouraged by his verbal commitment to full and complete transparency, and his outrage over the culture of secrecy within WDFW. Unfortunately, as we have seen, once appointed and given the Chair, all of a sudden he is fully involved in even greater skullduggery.

Unfortunately for us, as long as the Commissioners continue to do the bidding of the Northwest Indian Fisheries Commission and place politics and influence above conservation and equality, we will continue to see the Sportsmen lose.

There is a long list of Commission actions recently that has the the Sportsmen and other citizens in the State at a boil with anger. Yet, the Commission under Chair Carpenter’s guidance just keeps on making bad decision after bad decision.  Not to mention they continue to support the secret meetings of the North of Falcon. You’ve all seen the dismal results of secret decisions resulting from that!

The Governor of Oregon just did a sweeping removal of several ODFW Commissioners related to their reversal on the Columbia River Gill-nets!  

We all know where the loyalties of our esteemed Governor and many of our politicians lay. Campaign donations are not that hard to trace.

So that only leaves public activism and legal action as a method to stop this continued flawed Co-management process that is fraught with secrecy.

Time for you all to get involved again. Call or write the Governor’s office and your local representatives and let them know what a failure the current Commission’s decisions have been. Let them know that along with many others your sick and tired of the secrecy in the failed Co-management. And spread the word about our fight and share the petition.  WE ARE NOT GOING TO GO AWAY!
