We wish to extend a Happy Father’s Day to ALL the Dad’s and Grandpa’s, and to say "Thank you" for your continued support. Today is a special day in which we give thanks for the Fathers in our lives and reflect on how our Fathers and Grandfathers impacted us. I, like many of you, cherish the times we spend with our children and grandchildren, enjoying our love for the sport. Many of us also have fond memories of our Father’s taking us fishing. Those times are irreplaceable. Today, as we reflect, it is difficult to understand how we are now facing a reality where our salmon may not be there for our children and grandchildren. The outright assault on the sport fishermen and his family is sadly very real, and we are all feeling the effects of it right now. We, as Fathers, feel a deep responsibility to protect our families. I know from having conversations with many of you, the feeling of responsibility also extends to preserving the fish and the sport we all love. We have an opportunity to tell those that are taking away our sport, that this MUST STOP! Below are the dates and times of the “Public Input” hearings that WDFW has scheduled in an attempt to make us feel like they want us involved. Please, plan to attend one of these hearings and let the Senior Leadership know, we will not role over and let them take away our children’s and grandchildren’s opportunity. We will not let them destroy their chance to make the memories we fathers and grandfather’s have of the great fishing this state once produced! If you have a chance, speak to those with you today. Ask them to join us in this fight. We are, after all one family of sportsmen and women, and these secret meetings impact us all. _______Recreational Salmon Fishery Public Hearing Schedule:_________ --Puget Sound Freshwater and Saltwater Written comments are due by June 27, 2017 A public hearing will take place on June 27, 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
