Hi everyone — Patrice Boyle here, owner of La Posta and organizer of this petition. It’s time for a bridge update and an ask.
Update: Lower Seabright remains cut off from about 90% of its previous traffic. Businesses here are watching their livelihoods crumble.
The ask: Please email now or call in during the RTC meeting this Thursday, November 6 at 9:30 a.m. to urge Commissioners to approve Agenda Item 21:
- To open the rail bridge over the Santa Cruz Harbor as a temporary trail for bicyclists and pedestrians.
According to the RTC, an open rail bridge could serve up to 450 people a day — a huge boost for neighborhood residents and local businesses alike.
Your support matters. Please take a minute to email the decision-makers:
- Fred Keeley (Santa Cruz Mayor)
- Justin Cummings (County Supervisor 3rd District)
- Manu Koenig (County Supervisor 1st District)
- Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Commission (RTC)
- ... or Click here for all of the above
- ... or call in via Zoom: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89597173447
Our community — business and residential, on both sides of the harbor — needs the connectivity this bridge will restore.
