Hi all,
If you've recently signed the Open Letter to Thomas Hübl, thank you for doing so. It's great to see over 400 people now joining this call to end the silence on Palestine in the wellness world.
Although the Summit is over, we continue to gather signatures. Thomas Hübl has been sent the letter and we still await a response.. The letter has also been sent to all 60 or so speakers at this year's event. I'm pleased to share that recent additions to the growing list of signatories include Summit speakers Francis Weller, Aizaiah Yong, and Fatimah Finney. Others to come...
Please do continue to share and circulate on your social media platforms, emails, whatsapp groups and personal contact lists. The letter is open for anyone to sign from any walk of life / working background, but of course it is especially important to get people from within the trauma/healing/wellness world to add their name.
If you are willing to add your professional affiliation and any title you might have to the full signatory list over on my substack, please email irma.k.allen@gmail.com. Change. org doesn't enable us to capture that info, but it adds extra weight to the letter to be able to share this.
Please also sign this related initiative - the Open Letter to the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapists calling on them to end their silence. You can also follow @mentalhealthworkeruk4palestine to keep up to date with this.
***Your further help required!***
I am organising an online call for anyone who would like to get involved in carrying this forward this Sunday 16th November at 7.30pm UK time. Please email me if you would like to join: irma.k.allen@gmail.com.
You are also invited to attend the following related event: Break the Silence: Trauma therapists talk about Gaza (EMDR Therapists for Palestine) Saturday 29 November 8pm UK time.
Have you felt powerless, frustrated, gaslit and shut down when trying to talk about the Palestinian genocide in therapeutic spaces? Confused as to why trauma therapists want to talk about healing trauma, both collectively and intergenerationally, yet avoid mentioning Gaza? Join Gabor Maté and Palestinian friends including experienced therapists Nada Khader and Heba Zaphiriou-Zarifi to explore the implications of what Maté calls “the unspeakable collective trauma that has been for decades inflicted on the people of Palestine,.. A trauma witnessed and grieved by millions around the world". Please buy a ticket, your donations will support the recovery of children from Gaza.
Until soon,
Irma x
