Thank you to all of those who joined many of us in respectfully seeking the Chancellor and University Council to consider what would be in the best interests of UOW at this time. We unanamously welcome the "thoughful" decision by Chancellor Still to stand aside.

Whilst the 160 (plus) signatures might seem small to those outside the UOW community in comparison to other types of open letters or "petitions," what has occurred outside this list of names on a public site has been the overwhelming permission for the whole UOW community to ask the same question of the Chancellor and UOW Council without fear of reprisal. I personally have been overwhelmed with significant numbers of colleagues, alumni and students reaching out to me directly in support of the University’s interests being placed first. Friday 5 June 2026 was an emotional day for many of the UOW Community, I am just small individual member of this incredible community navigating this challenging time. I wish that was the end of this difficult chapter.
