Dear Senator Camille Villar,
I am writing to respectfully bring to your attention the ongoing and worsening problem with the water supply in Dasmariñas, Cavite, which has long been a serious concern for residents.
For years, households and businesses here have been suffering from:
1. Irregular and inadequate water supply, forcing families to ration or purchase water daily.
2. Unfair and inconsistent billing practices, where charges often do not reflect actual water consumption.
3. Poor responsiveness to complaints, leaving many residents feeling neglected and unheard.
Water is a basic human need and right. Unfortunately, the current situation under Primewater’s management continues to cause undue hardship for thousands of families in Dasmariñas.
As our Senator and a representative of the Philippine Senate, we humbly request your urgent intervention in this matter. We are also mindful that your family has ownership ties to Primewater, which makes your leadership and decisive action on this issue even more critical in assuring the public of fairness, transparency, and accountability.
Specifically, we call on you to:
1. Initiate an investigation and public hearing on Primewater’s performance in Dasmariñas to ensure that the concerns of residents are heard and addressed.
2. Hold the water service provider accountable by requiring full transparency in billing practices, infrastructure development, and compliance with service obligations.
3. Pursue stronger regulatory measures or alternative solutions that will safeguard the welfare of consumers and guarantee sustainable, reliable access to water.
We firmly believe that with your leadership, influence, and commitment to public service, this long-standing issue can finally be resolved with meaningful and lasting solutions.
Thank you very much for your time and attention to this urgent matter. We remain hopeful that you will stand with the people of Dasmariñas in upholding our right to fair, reliable, and dignified access to water.
Respectfully yours,
Concerned Citizens of Dasmariñas Calling for Water Accountability
