This didn't make the local news, but BHS alumna Sarah Nadav filed a Child Victims Act suit against the district in 2021. The suit alleges that BCSD failed to protect her from "being sexually abused by one of their adult students and/or visitors who was permitted on school grounds and given access to the Galaxy room where he was able to isolate and sexually abuse Plaintiff."

The lawsuit also mentions Dr. Gary Wiener, then-advisor of the Galaxy literary magazine, who was accused of sexual abuse in a previous CVA case. Nadav's suit claims that Wiener knew the Galaxy room was being used for "inappropriate and unsafe purposes," but that no one in the district took action to remedy the dangerous situation.
