Dear supporters of Gender Affirming Care,
What ever you wrote to Shelley Dolan in your emails has worked! Shelley has reached out and said the following.....
Dear Cloe,
My apologies for being delayed getting back to you I was very keen to get back to you within 2-3 weeks but it has taken a bit longer.
Let me explain what I have been doing. I have spoken to Monash and also the Austin and I have spoken to the Department of Health. All of this took a little longer as various people were away.
I am keen to try and help and have also spoken to our own team at the RMH. My next step is to have a meeting with various health services and the Department of Health and try to see if we can do anything.
Cloe I don’t want to promise what the outcome may be as I honestly don’t know at this stage, but I am keen to try and do whatever I can to help.
I think you may need to give me about another four – six weeks as I need to meet with and talk to various people throughout the system.
I am going to do my best but as I say I cannot predict the outcome at this stage.
Again thank you for reaching out to me and I will come back to you.
With very best wishes
Shelley
So there is no need to email Shelley any more. However it is so very important to keep emailing everyone else on this list, especially the health minister. it has been my experience that health ministers need the most support to do what is right not what is in their political interest..... I have included a simple template for an email at the bottom...
Yours Sincerely,
Cloé
