Councillor Cllr Damien Corfield, the council’s cabinet member of highways and environment, told the News in February that “upgrading Oldswinford Cross to provide a pedestrian phase is on the current pedestrian facilities programme”.

He said a design was being drawn up with the intention to bring this to fruition in the next financial year – subject to budget availability and consultation with the public and local councillors.
