Huge Update: We Have Progress on Lake Elkhorn!

​Good news, everyone!

​We just received word from a Columbia Association (CA) representative regarding several direct actions they are taking in response to the community’s voice:

​Earlier Daily Access: Starting tomorrow, Monday, June 29th, CA will begin opening the restrooms at 8:00 AM, seven days a week, for the summer months.

​New Restrooms at Lake Elkhorn Playground: CA plans to install portable restrooms near the playground off of Cradlerock (across from McDonald's). These plans will be presented at an upcoming Owen Brown Village Board meeting for community input (date TBD).

​Enhanced Security: CA is actively working to install cellular security cameras at the facility.

​Extended Season: They are also exploring the possibility of extending facility hours further into the autumn months.

​What’s Next?

​This is a huge win for everyone who visits Lake Elkhorn, but our job isn't quite done. We will continue to monitor these developments and stay in close contact with CA to ensure our neighborhood's voice is prioritized throughout the process.

​Doing Our Part as a Community

​As we celebrate these improvements, let’s also commit to doing our part to keep Lake Elkhorn beautiful. Showing respect for the lake, the pavilion, and our neighbors means making sure our trash always finds a bin, cleaning up after ourselves, and reporting any maintenance issues to CA immediately. When we take pride in our shared spaces, everyone benefits.
