Thank you very much

Baie dankie, ke a leboha haholo

In less than 24 hours we reached 2000 signatures and 5000 views. In my understanding this is a high rate of signatures for the amount of vijuews on change.org.

Thank you to every person who shared, signed or boosted the petition so far.

The reason why we started this petition is in reaction to the draft 2020/21 budget that was tabled in the first digital council for Mangaung on 28 May 2020. Usually this should be tabled and advertised for public comment by March, however due to the national state of Disaster and habitually late submission of documents by Mangaung administration it was only tabled now.

By law the public must now have a chance to comment on the budget, and usually public meetings would also be held for this. Due the the lockdown public meetings are not possible. However the public still have until 27June to view documents and comment on the content of these documents.

The signatures in support of the content of this petition will be submitted as input to the "administrator" of Mangaung, the "City Manager", the Free State MEC for Finance, the national treasury expert on finance appointed by the FS Exco, the Mangaung Chief Financial Officer and others.

However, we would like to already submit a premiminary list of signatures and comments by 20 June so that the administration has at least 10 days before the end of June, which is the last day for council to adopt a new budget before the start of the new financial yeat on 1 July. (The deadline is actually 31 May).

To view the draft budget, tariffs, IDP, SDF and other documents and send further comments on these directly to Mangaung, visit http://mangaung.co.za/2020/05/29/draft-integrated-development-plan-2020-21-idp-sectoral-plans-mtref-budget-2020-21-2022-23-budget-related-policies/

This is your chance to make inputs and suggestions and describe the challenges that bad governance in Mangaung causes for you, your business and your community.

Please share this petition with all residents and stakeholders in Mangaung via your WhatsApp, Facebook and other social media

Lastly you can follow t.me/DAMangaung or Facebook.com/DAMangaung for further updates and information on the budget and Mangaung Municipality.

Thank you again
