One Grove
23 May 2023

The federal court this morning rejected the City of Miami's gerrymandering of its commission districts.  The City is required to "create and implement a [new] constitutionally conforming remedial map."  Miami is now prevented from holding an election until it fixes the incorrectly drawn district boundaries.

The schedule to create a new map is not set.  A new map must be in place before 1 August.  One Grove will do all possible to ensure you are part of that process and your voice is heard.

The lawsuit's plaintiff's and the ACLU (their legal representatives) led this action and for their energies we are all grateful.  Your vocal support and active participation last year made all this possible.  By attending and speaking at the Commission meetings, your voice and presence brought this success.

One Grove has retained redistricting mapping experts to support this sustained campaign and your financial support made that possible.  Thank you.

For your One Grove and your Miami,

Mel
