Help NOT make Ole Miss parking any worse

Today students at Ole Miss received an email regarding a new parking policy that will begin on July 1, 2017. This new policy states, "we will require all vehicles to park in a way that the license plate on the rear of the vehicle is visible from the drive aisle. One would not be allowed to back into a parking space and/or pull through a parking space." As well as the new citations available for violations of this policy. A warning for your first offense. Then $25 for your second offense with a $25 increase for each violation afterwards. Like many current students Ole Miss parking is already frustrating enough, wether it be the lack of parking, ridiculous citations, or the over-priced parking pass without the guarantee of a spot, without being told how I can park my vehicle. For many students pulling forwards into a spot is not a feasible option. Spaces are to small and isles not wide enough for many big trucks and suburbans to do anything other than back-in or pull through to a spot. This new policy is an unnecessary added burden to an already burdensome process. The potential for avoidable wrecks that would take place while trying to park forwards into a small spot for some students as well as the overall prospect of being told how to park is not a well thought out policy for the school to impose in the best interest of current and new students. Lets help the university correct this mis-step before the school year starts. GO REBS.
