Since January 1, 2018 in America, we have lost 27,840 people to drugs. Why is there not more people advocating for change in laws to prevent this? How bad does this epidemic have to get before we as a country demand change? What if it was your son or daughter that you had to bury? What if you had fought so hard to save your son or daughter but couldn't get anyone to help? This happens more everyday here in America. I understand that people decide to take drugs for the first time, but there are also changes that occur in an addicts brain that keeps them from thinking rationally. When it reaches this point someone needs to help them because they can't help themselves. At this point Casey's law could make a difference. We could save their life. If we could save one life, which could be your son or daughter in the future, then it would be worth it all. In my own life, I have watched addiction take someone that I love and ruin their life. Watching addiction ravish their life was like being tied up and unable to help someone you love who is drowning. It is so sad. I would not wish addiction on anyone. It is time to make a difference and give hope to the loved one's of addicts.
