Recently, we learned that the Oklahoma City Public Schools (OKCPS), owner of the  beloved Central National Motor Bank annex (a.k.a. Wavy Bank) at NW 5th and Classen, plans to demolish the structure to add a few more parking spaces on the site.  OKCPS has offered to let someone remove the building, but that may not be possible with its unusual thin shell roof structure and weight.  

If we lose the iconic Wavy Bank, we will lose one of Oklahoma's most distinctive examples of mid-century modern architecture, and with this petition, we hope to both convince the OKCPS to save it and to offer alternative uses for the old drive-thru.  If you have an idea for repurposing the building, please explain it in the comments below.  We will present the petition and ideas to OKCPS at a future meeting.
