Athletes have worked hard to get to the state meet, some since they were in grade school, with the support of their fans. Spectators deserve the choice to attend the tournament to support those they’ve been watching all these years at the State Tournament. Part of their drive comes from those cheering them on. Not allowing spectators not only affects those who want to watch their athletes, it affects the athletes not having their support system in the stands. We know the risks of being in public spaces, but allow us to make the decision for ourselves.
