Hello supporters,

Thank you for signing and sharing this petition asking Warren County Prosecutors to RELEASE THE DNA!  We are so grateful for your support for Ryan and ask you to continue to share this petition. Today Ryan had his 15 year mark parole hearing. Ryan has claimed his innocence since the very beginning and continues that to this day. His hope were high along with the many supporters who sent letters to the parole board. All, including Ryan were hoping and  they would be treated fairly, honeslty and ethically and that Ryan would have the opportunity to get his life back on track. However, sadly the parole board is apparently unable to accept the possibility a prisoner could actually be innocent and needs them to have remorse, even for something they did not do. Today, in a very quick decision Ryan was deemed unsuitable for parole. His next opportunity to be considered will be in 5 years. I think it is safe to assume Ryan will continue to claim his innocence and if the parole board needs remorse at that time he will again be denied. 

This is an unacceptable outcome for justice. For 15 years Ryan has done everything that has been asked of him by our criminal justice system in hopes he would be treated fairly when his day came. Once again the system has failed him and all of us. There simply is no space for an innocent person to have true justice. 

However the "system" allows Warren County Prosecutors to deny the release of the Sarah Widmers DNA for their gain, denying the public the opportunity to seek truth. The only piece of evidence that could shed light on what really happened to her that night in her bathtub.  Warren County says 34 out of 36 jurors found Ryan guilty and that is why he should be denied parole. However, the reality is, 34 out of 36 juror finding him guilty does not MAKE him guilty. 

Given the circumstances surrounding this case, Ryan claiming innocence(even after 15 years in prison) 3 trials, several appeals and now parole denied it is time for Warren County Prosecutors to RELEASE THE DNA. In an attempt for full visibility, the public deserves to know if we have an innocent man behind bars.
