

Please report any incidences of firework use that affects your pets. The RSPCA and the BHS are both collecting information to prove the problem to the government. These are the latest shocking stats from the BHS.
2021 – 391 incidents reported (102.6% increase from 2020)
2020 – 193 incidents reported

• 369 firework incidents reported from March – 31st December 2021
• 13 people injured
• 40 horses injured
• 8 horse fatalities
• 299 domestic firework displays
o 44 horse owners had prior notice 255 horse owners weren’t given prior notice
o 10 people injured
o 26 horses injured
o 4 horse fatalities
• 54 public firework displays
o 29 displays gave prior notice/horse owners had prior notice 25 horse owners weren’t given prior notice
o 2 people injured
o 3 horses injured
o 3 horse fatalities
The reason the public and domestic numbers don’t add up to the total overall for Mar-Nov, is because the remaining numbers were selected as ‘not sure’ so its not known whether they were public or domestic
It is vital for this campaign and for the RSPCA and the BHS campaigns that every incident is reported. The government will continue to deny the size of the problem if they can't see any data to support that.
