Hi everyone!
Unfortunately, we do not have any good news for you. On Tuesday, April 20th 2021, the municipal council of Osnabrück decided with the votes of the "christian democrat" (CDU), "social democrat" (SPD) and even the (pseudo-) "green" parties, and against the votes of pirates, the left and the liberal parties, to reject our petition. Therefore, at this point, everything is pointing to that quite soon, our home, local nature and our project of 23 years will be destroyed forever. This means that we'll have to move, probably to the other side of town, to neighborhoods far away from our home. As you can certainly imagine our mood is between depression and rage after more than 5 years of fighting.
But we'd like to leave this petition open because the construction plans will be presented to public only in (boreal) summer, and because then we'll finally get to see the expert reports and will still have the "chance" to present citizen objections. ...local elections will take place in September, and we hope that together with all the movements that exist at the moment in Osnabrück we'll be able to at least pressurize all those who think human beings and nature are nothing but ballast.
