Still a long way to take.

Hello dear supporters! Here, we're giving you some news about our WabOS topic and our fight to stay there where we've been for 19 years! So far, we've had some attention by local media. There have been at least 5 quite positive articles about us in at least 3 different (local) newspapers and magazines. On 26th October, 2016 we got an award! :) The thing is that already some months before we had applied to the town's local environmental award, that was provided for the first time to town citizens beside the usual procedure to award people from the more rural, outer districts. This year's main topic was the conservation of insects. Among a total of 7 urban applicants, 5 of which were honored, we got to be one of two projects in the category of "private persons" whom the award was handed over. So you know: Our small humming cohabiters are quite dear to our hearts! :) And the best of it: the municipality's building officer, Mr Frank Otte, signed the award.-A positive indication??? We don't know. But there certainly was a blink of hope in this to us... Furthermore, we got a declaration of solidarity from the SubstAnZ, the independent social and cultural (autonomous) center we have in this town, that means a lot to us. Us self-governing places stick together!!! :) The declaration (in German) can be found under the following link as well as on the SubstAnZ's facebook profile. http://www.substanz-os.de/solidaritatserklarung-des-substanz-osnabruck-mit-dem-wagenplatz-wabos/ We have had several meetings with people from different political parties and with the gentlemen of the municipality's building office, that is responsible for the concerned sites' land use planning. Unfortunately, their plans still don't coincide with our plans... While they are still talking about a removal or a reduction of our site, we've decided to fight for an extension of our project, so more people could enjoy the life in trailers and at the same time, the neighbor sites would be saved from cement sealing and elsewise ecologically tragic procedures. Thursday 8th December, 2016 will be quite a decisive date regarding the building plans, because the concerned municipal committee is going to hold a meeting. We hope to be succesful! After that date, there will be a period of public consideration, and we pretend to hand over the first big amount of signatures as well as an open letter, signed by several initiatives and groups.
