There are more than 100000 odiya people lives in pune. During emergency we need to travel to Mumbai to catch a flight to bhubaneswar or catch a flight via other city which takes 10+ hours to reach bhubaneswar. Top of it, drive to Mumbai from pune also takes five hours.  The situation become worst during rainy season. Considering this a direct flight from pune to bhubaneswar is justified.
