Since 2021 we have been trying to get some advocacy around bringing a safe Lot to Oceanside CA. This Wednesday 10/18/2023 we get to go in front of city council and get them to consider starting the planning process and location possibility for one! This is HUGE! Our neighboring city of Vista has recently implemented a lot and has had great success with it. 

A safe lot is a secured parking lot where folks who are living out of their vehicles can park without worrying about parking enforcement. They can get connected to resources, have showers, bathrooms. Hand washing sinks, and food provided. Most people who live out of their vehicles are closer to getting connected with permanent housing than others. It's essential in preventing more folks from ending up on the street.
