Update: The Camden Film Quarter was approved by one vote - supported entirely by Labour

Thank you to all 1,514 of you who signed this petition, and to everyone who objected on the planning portal or spoke at the meeting.
On Monday 15 June 2026, Camden's Planning Committee approved the Camden Film Quarter at Regis Road (2025/4861/P and 2025/5084/L) by six votes to five.
The decision was carried entirely by Labour. All six Labour councillors on the committee voted in favour. All five opposition councillors, from the Green, Liberal Democrat and Conservative parties, voted against. It was a straight 6–5 vote, and the chair, Cllr Liam Martin-Lane (Labour), was one of the six in favour.
The scheme was approved despite objections from 18 community groups and hundreds of residents. We raised the 24-storey heights, homes built above a recycling centre, the deep basements opposite CFBL primary school, and the harm to protected views and heritage. None of these concerns went away.
What happens next: the application now goes to the Mayor of London for a final Stage 2 decision. The Mayor can let the approval stand, direct refusal, or take the decision over himself.
Please remember how your councillors voted and for those in Holborn and St. Pancras constituency, send a message on October 8!
