The Camden Film Quarter vision entails relocating a recycling center from an industrial area to a residential area opposite St. Patrick's Catholic Primary School. As the recent Christmas Eve fire at Islington's Hornsey Street recycling centre demonstrated, lithium-ion batteries in waste pose serious fire risks — risks acknowledged by the industry itself. It seems unthinkable to attempt such a plan, but that is the Camden Film Quarter.

Dear Planning Officer,
I am writing as a local resident to express concerns regarding the proposed Camden Film Quarter development at Regis Road. While regeneration of underused land is welcome, the scale of the proposal raises concerns including buildings up to 24 stories in an area where surrounding buildings are much lower.
I am also concerned about:
• basement depths close to CFBL primary school
• the relocation of a recycling centre from an industrial site into residential streets opposite St Patrick’s school
• the proposal to relocate tenants into housing above the recycling facility
Given that this site was previously used for council services and is now subject to redevelopment through a land disposal agreement, I would appreciate reassurance that contractual arrangements do not constrain the Council’s ability to determine the planning application solely on planning merits.
Kind regards
