Since I last wrote in September 2020, we have a few updates. 

Tree Preservation Order secured
I am very pleased to report we have secured a Tree Preservation Order from Runnymede Council for Christ Church Longcross (NO: 453). Within the church yard, 15 specific trees have been protected as well as three grouping of trees across the site. As the grave site will remain accessible to the public in perpetuity, not only will local wildlife benefit from the preservation of these trees as well as providing continuing protection to our environment, visitors to the graveyard will continue to enjoy the amenity these trees bring to the historic character of the church and its surrounding area.

In addition, the Diocese of Guildford have pledged to replace two trees of prominence at the front of the church property on Longcross road which need to be removed as they have large cavities and decay. 

Development Works
No further works have been undertaken since last September - the parking area which should be prepared for construction as per the planning application conditions has not progressed. The site has several pre-commencement conditions before works can start - none of these conditions have yet been submitted to planning. We continue to keep an eye for the commencement of development and will update when there is any activity.

Graveyard Maintenance
Although the hedges in the graveyard and on the lane were trimmed last October as per the developer's responsibilities per his lease conditions, the debris created has still not been cleared some 6 months later. No further grounds keeping of the graveyard has been undertaken since. We continue to campaign for the maintenance of the graveyard as promised by the developer.
