We are still waiting for the official appeal documents to be uploaded to the planning inspectorate website

Once it goes live anyone can comment
The November 2021 application had 33 objections from local residents and 60 supporting the application. However, almost all of the supportive comments were from the developers friends and colleagues, none of whom lived on the estate or had even visited the site.
Hastings Borough council voted to reject the development 6:4 in November 2021
The Council as a Local Planning Authority will be defending the decision of the Planning Committee at that appeal.
Of the 4 councillors that voted to approve it , only 1 is still on the committee, the Mayor of Hastings - James Bacon. The rest are no longer on the committee.
We approached the Major to comment, he responded , “It would not be appropriate for me to comment as the application is subject to an appeal against the Council’s decision to refuse planning permission”
This developer has
-hired a Specialist Planning and Public Law Barrister to help get their project approved
-got support from The Mayor of Hastings who went against the planning officers recommendations to refuse planning permission
-hired a specialist firm, the Design Review panel who support applicants in gaining planning approval for well designed schemes.
We may not have the same budget or contacts but we will fight to win
This developer already put the 4 houses on the market last year for £550,000 each before it was taken down.
