O&WBC are planning to start charging for all car parks in Oadby & Wigston. There will be very few free short stay bays of 20 minutes maximum which is hardly encouraging locals to stay in the area and spend their hard earned money. It seems that they may also be planning redevelopment on some existing car parks, thus further reducing the chance of people visiting and spending money in our area. This could result in the loss of more local shops and businesses, of which many must be struggling to survive after COVID anyway. People will vote with their feet if this plan is pushed through and shop elsewhere. Where will our local community be then?
