Kristine Kilkelly Releases Statement to Newshub Addressing Our Petition

Thanks to your help and support, our petition has made it onto the Newshub website! (no TV coverage yet). Newshub raised some of the points outlined in our petition to NZQA Deputy Chief Executive Kristine Kilkelly in which she stated: NZQA deputy chief executive Kristine Kilkelly says, like everyone, the authority made decisions with "imperfect information" in a situation which was continuing to unfold. She said cancelling Monday's exams altogether would have caused much more turmoil. "Three quarters of students across the country were unaffected, and it's a very big sitting day so it would have caused huge disruption to those students and it was in the best interest for students overall to continue as we normally do." She understood the frustrations of students, but believed the derived grade process would address their concerns.
