We, the residents of Cypress Hills Houses,  NYCHA properties, having had to go to the post office twice a week (Wednesday & Saturdays for the past 3.5 months, if not longer), are DEMANDING NYCHA fix the mailboxes!

The post office serving our area (New Lotts Postal Office) has been overwhelmed with demands regarding the mail and complaints, has put the residents of Cypress Hills on notice: AS OF OCTOBER 2nd,  2021,  THE POST OFFICE WILL BEGIN SENDING OUR MAIL BACK TO THE SENDER! The notice went on to say; THIS IS A NYCHA ISSUE, NOT A POSTAL ISSUE!

Having been inconvenienced for several months, after requesting the mailboxes get services by the Post Office AND NYCHA, some of the residents of Cypress Hills Houses, find it necessary to purchase mailboxes from the post office! Not all residents can afford that every month!  Because our requests to have the mailboxes fixed for the past several months have gone unheard, we feel there is no other option, except perhaps to pay for this service with portions of our rent!

NYCHA HAS BEEN SLUMLORDING WITH ASSISTANCE OF THEIR OWN HOUSING COURT, at 141 Livingston! Something has to be done about this! All they want is the rent! With total disregard to the condition of the apartments and hallways!

We are asking ALL residents of Cypress Hills Houses to stand with us and DEMAND to be treated respectfully and not be made to continue living in ragged conditions!
