FDNY UFA – the firefighters union — reports that late Saturday night, "when a 5-alarm tore through a Manhattan Chinese restaurant, Uncle Ted’s, responding firefighters dealt with outdoor dining configurations which delayed them from arriving to the scene sooner and also obstructed them upon arrival . . . which contributed to the fire upgrading to a 5 alarm. Flames tore through the entire building and took several hours to extinguish. 2 firefighters were brought to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries." The COVID dining huts, originally planned as a pandemic emergency economic measure, are now threatening the lives of New York's Bravest, and all of us. Tell the Mayor and the City Council that it's time to shut the dining sheds.
