Timeline & Strategy Update + Community Interest Meeting

After speaking with my team members and receiving counsel from more community members, the people have spoken! We continue crowdfunding and gaining signatures for the installation of K-9 SynLawn turf, and we hope to complete the installation by May 2022. We hope that in 4 months, we can raise the capital necessary to create a safer dog run for everyone and install it with the help of contractors and volunteers.

There were some questions about feasibility with the trees: After speaking with the Tompkin’s Square Park Dog Run team, they assured us that a particular type of turf would be outstanding for drainage and not harm the trees whatsoever. Their turf has held up well for years, and anyone curious about proof of concept should visit the dog run! Their team has crowdfunded the project locally and installed turf beautifully in the new dog run.
