PET (Polyethylene terephthalate) is a harmful polymer resin that is found in many plastics. It is dangerous because it takes a very long time to decompose and while decomposing, it breaks down into smaller and smaller bits of plastic called micro-plastics. We want to limit the use of this harmful ingredient in plastic bottles because it causes damage to the oceans ecosystems.
