Save the Griffith Hospital Nurses Quarters

We are calling on the NSW Minister for Health, Brad Hazzard, to STOP THE DEMOLITION of the old Nurses Quarters at Griffith Hospital until such time as there is adequate community consultation, including a public meeting with NSW Health Infrastructure and Murrumbidgee Local Health District executive.
The NSW government, under the auspices of NSW Health Infrastructure, are planning to demolish the Griffith Hospital Nurses Quarters without consultation with the community.
Griffith has only a handful of heritage recognised building. The old Nurses Quarters is a landmark and should be preserved. It is a substantial building with historical significance in a town which has already lost so much of it's past architectural heritage in the name of progress. Preserving and reusing landmark buildings of this scale and quality, particularly this one which holds so many memories, provides people with a sense of place and belonging.
No assessment or feasibility study has been provided to the public to inform them about how the decision was reached, in particular the economic argument and the building condition report.
Please give us your support by signing this petition and sharing it with as many people as possible, including ex-residents and anyone who has a present or past connection with Griffith, the hospital and the Nurses Quarters.
Alternatively contact Brad Hazzard and also encourage family and friends without internet access to write or phone to express their views.
