We won!!

We stopped the egregious overdevelopment of prime public Sydney Harbour foreshore land. Land that abuts Sydney’s oldest residential precinct, Millers Point, and Observatory Hill.

Planning Minister Roberts wrote to Infrastructure NSW on 19 October expressing his concern that “(Mod 9) would obstruct important public views to and from Observatory Hill and Millers Point and result in increased overshadowing of Harbour Park”.

The Minister said that he is “not satisfied that the current proposal is in the best interests of the community” and he asks of INSW that they “bring forward a revised proposal that meet these (building heights) expectations and appropriately responds to the other key issues raised by my Department, the community and other key stakeholders”.

We remain vigilant that the next proposal from INSW accords with these instructions. We thank you for your support which has been invaluable in achieving this great result for the broader Sydney community.
