WE DEMAND RELEASE OF THE 2018 NDDC SCHOLARSHIP FINAL LIST & PAYMENT OF TRANSPORT ALLOWANCE

WE DEMAND RELEASE OF THE 2018 NDDC SCHOLARSHIP FINAL LIST & PAYMENT OF TRANSPORT ALLOWANCE

The Issue

The NDDC SCHOLARSHIP programme is an initiative set up to better the educational system of the Niger Delta region of Nigeria.. unfortunately, in 2017 the scholarship award was pronounced inconclusive after over 4000 prospective scholars risked their lives, wasted money traveling down to portharcourt to sit for the exams and of which 1,500 was shortlisted for the oral interview after two weeks. In all, the NDDC boards refused to release the scholarship final list and later cancelled the award for 2017. Again in July 2018 the programme was opened for fresh application and over 2835 prospective scholars travelled, risked their lives and resources to sit for this same exam and of which 1500 was shortlisted for the oral interview which lasted for a week, in September the MD/CEO Nsima Udo Ekere promised on News media (Punch News paper) to conclude the whole process by 21st September, 2018. And nothing has been done till this very moment, no comments on what's delaying the release of the final list of successful scholars neither is there any info on the payment of the #10,000 naira transport allowance for those of us who were interviewed. The trend is following the path of 2017 award which was later cancelled. The same 2017 process I lost a friend to accident on our way traveling back to Lagos from portharcourt after the interview.

Please help us BEG Nsima Udo Ekere, Victor Ndoma Egba and the NDDC boards to please release the scholarship final list for 2018 and pay the #10,000(naira) transport allowance for those that attended the interview. This is our right as Niger Deltans youth.. we shun Violence to embrace Education. We demand the release of the final list for THE NDDC 2018 SCHOLARSHIP. THANK YOU.
