For over the past 40 years the NPR Morning Edition theme has started the day's news with an old-style, jazzy theme that millions of people have listened to and become familiar with, knowing that the best news coverage in the country was coming up next. But on Monday, May 6th 2019 the old theme went off air and a new theme was introduced. This surprised many, and people have described the new theme as jarring, disconcerting and conveying some type of unnecessary urgency. Thousands have complained about the change and the Atlantic Magazine has already written a piece proving why the theme should be changed back. My goal for this petition is to convince NPR to change back the Morning Edition theme and to keep it that way. So please help me and thousands of others reach this goal by signing the petition.
