Dear supporter,
It has been 110 days since "Lolita" died on August 18 at the Miami Seaquarium inside a concrete pool where she was forced to live for more than five decades. I don't have much to add to this tragic and sad chapter of this unjust relationship between humans and this free-living animal. However, I will share a story by Caitlin Gibson, The call for Tokitae that was published in The Washington Post one day ago in which she masterfully lays out in full detail this sad and fascinating saga of an orca whale who captured so many hearts around the world, including yours. Be ready to cry, to mourn even more, and to be inspired, and also be reassured that at the end of the reading, you will realize that her life and death were not in vain and that even after Tokitae's passing, the hearts and minds of people like you are still needed by not thousands nor millions but by billions of animals exploited one way or another around the world to satisfy human greed.
I want to thank you for supporting my petition, which was one of many others started in one more desperate but heartfelt attempt to release a most beautiful living being to the place where she always belonged.
