This picturesque body of water known as “The Puddle” is a mix of both fresh and salt water. It is situated just behind and below the Puddle Train Bridge, a well known stopping place along the Trans Canada Trail (Rails to Trails); bordering the communities of Black Point and Queensland Nova Scotia. This waterway is home to an abundance of marine and other wildlife. It is also used for light recreational use.  The Puddle and its inhabitants are at great risk, given recent silt spills that have occurred as a result of the 103 Highway twinning project.  Although these incidents are unintended consequences; action must be taken to protect this waterway from future spills or pollutants.  The intention of this petition is to ensure appropriate precautions, whatever that may be, are taken to ensure that there will be no further spills into this waterway.
