The mobilizing of faculty and students on this site, and the organizing for meetings of the Northwestern Faculty Senate and Associated Student Government shed light on Karl Eikenberry's lack of qualifications to run the Buffett Institute. The announcement by Provost Linzer indicating a parting of the ways comes in the wake of persistent requests by faculty and students for Eikenberry's resume, which Eikenberry and Provost Linzer refused to release. (The Provost told students to look up Eikenbery on Wikipedia.) The organizers believe that both parties preferred backing out of the appointment rather than releasing the resume, and that this redeems the petition signatories' concerns about the impropriety of this appointment.
