5 mile and Beck development is moving forward against the wishes of Northville Township Citizens. On Sep 15th Board of Trustees meeting officials voted 4:3 in favor of the development even though overwhelming and resounding message from the residents opposing the proposed development. Resident after resident explained why the multi-million dollar development is no good for Northville Township – with many citing traffic and safety concerns and many flat out rejecting a second Meijer location in the area. Most residents want to keep the aesthetics of the historic village to remain without change. This parcel is unique being PUBLIC land, not a private to private sale so there is an expectation of higher level of public input and responsiveness from the officials. This petition is requesting the Northville Township to stop the proposed development and have a constructive discussions with the Township residents for the future plans on this land.
