Don't Move Delapre Abbey Tea Rooms from our Walled Gardens!

Don't Move Delapre Abbey Tea Rooms from our Walled Gardens!
The Issue
We the undersigned:
1. Demand that Northampton Borough Council drops the current proposals for the permanent removal of the Delapré Abbey tea Rooms from its perfect location within the 18th century stable block by a picturesque walled garden.
2. Reject the loss of seating from 130 to 28 and the loss of income to the charity which will result in the closure of the tea rooms and the end of many good works carried out by FODA.
3. Are appalled by the lack of consultation on the move of the tea rooms to a 19th Century stable block which is inadequate for the purpose has no proper disabled facilities, no proper access for members of the public, and has been sighted in a place known locally as “dog ‘poo’ alley”.
4. Are appalled at the bullying and threats by certain members of the Council. Having been grateful for the support of the community and Friends of Delapré Abbey (FODA) as part of the successful Heritage Lottery bid, the Tories then tried to exclude them from any further involvement in the process.
5. Call upon Northampton Borough Council and the DAPT board to guarantee, by word and action, that the FODA tea rooms remain in the 18th Century Stable Block with full and free use and access to the walled garden.
