I have started this petition due to a letter I received from my local council yesterday asking that I remove a frame around my baby's grave and also the stones within this frame due to it being homemade and they say the stones are causing issues to law mowers . My daughter grace sadly lost her battle with SMA type 1 in August 2012 aged just 6 months . The day we laid grace to rest she was covered in flowers and from that day on has been tended everyday by myself . Once the ground had naturally levelled her frame was put on along with the stones and they have been there two years now . Now the council want me to remove the frame and replace with a stonemason one at £1000 or have no frame . As Gracie's mother I can't deal with the logic behind there request , graces forever bed was bought and paid for by me and her dad . We own the deeds to her grave but yet the council can still dictate how it should be decorated . After speaking to the person who sent the letter his response was " you have 90 days to remove the asked items or we will " to my response what about ornaments etc that are in her bed his reply " they are nothing to do with us they will be removed and any damage is at my cost " . Such heart and compassion about my daughters grave , please stand by me and fight this stupid decision and protect the graves in grimsby cemetery that actually do get cared for .
