Beside preserving it, North Central Railway zone of India is shutting down the The Maharaja Railways of India also known as Gwalior Light Railway (GLR) which was been proposed for inclusion in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites.

Its really sad to say that Rs. 8.56 lakh crore has been allocated by Indian Railways for betterment of Railway in India but they don't have money to preserve their own history. 

North Central Railway zone should outsource the maintenance of Gwalior Light Railway. They can also promote this rail for tourism as its the world's only longest Narrow-gauge railway track. 

Shutting down seems to be the most lazy step North Central Railway zone of India can take. There are very few things related to Indian history today, and we should preserve it.

For the people of Gwalior, we should stop Indian Railways from shutting this amazing train. As it is we have very less things to be proud of today. If everything will get shut down, then what will be the heritage of Gwalior.

For the record, Gwalior is listed in 98 smart cities of India.
