Garo Paylan, a member of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey for the pro-Kurdish and pro-minority Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) has stated that representatives of the ruling Justice and Development party had planned to assault his during the latest brawl.

“Garo is here, Garo is here,” they cried to one another, seeking a lynch law against him.

In an interview with Bianet, Mr Paylan said that a 15-member group attempted to assault him for being an Armenian that defends rights.

“I was assaulted and received blows with more than 100 feet and fists within 20-30 seconds. They were uttering words of hatred and racism. They wanted to see an Armenian loyal to them. I was assaulted for being an Armenian that defends rights,” the Turkish-Armenian MP said, adding that the attackers showed on another where he was. (source : tert.am)
